The Italian Poker Tour San Remo €2,000 + €200 main event came to an end with Oleksii Kovalchuk and Andrea Vitale fighting it out for the top slot of the €679,000 prize pool.

In the end it was Kovalchuk who took home the title, the trophy, and the €175,000 top prize. This is Kovalchuk’s second IPT title as he also won in Nova Gorica last September.

2008 European Poker Tour Prague winner Salvatore Bonavena could only manage fourth place for €51,000 but it is still yet another strong result for the Italian.

Here are the final table results and payouts:

1. Oleksii Kovalchuk €175,000
2. Andrea Vitale €110,500
3. Alberto Spigalon €68,000
4. Salvatore Bonavena €51,000
5. Marco Fabbrini €34,000
6. Fabio Pilato €27,200
7. Fabio Cetara €20.300
8. Gianfranco Mazzariello €13,600

Up next is the IPT Nova Gorica 2 which will take place in the Perla Casino from Mar. 1-5 and features a €2,000 + €200 buy-in main event.
