888 Poker Revenue Up 58 Percent in 2011

888 Holdings Plc, owner of 888 Poker, today said its business-to-consumer (B2C) online poker offering earned US$61 million in revenue in 2011, up 58 percent on the US$38 million it earned in 2010.

The fourth quarter of 2011 saw B2C poker revenue up 76 percent to $19 million from $11 million in the same period of 2010.

Brian Mattingley, deputy chairman, commented on the figures, “Strong trading was led by an excellent performance in our B2C Casino & Poker, and is the successful result of an increased strategic focus on our core competencies and the stand out success of Poker 6.”

The number of active poker customers in the final quarter of 2011 was 318,000, also up 58 percent compared to final quarter of 2011.

Quarterly revenue per active poker customer was $58, growth of 11 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2010

Poker helped drive overall record results for the company which also operates sports book, casino and bingo businesses.

Group revenue for the full year 2011 hit $331 million, up 26 percent from $262 milllion in 2010.

Last week 888 announced a tie up with Caesars Interactive Entertainment in France to expand upon its U.S. and UK partnerships.
