PokerStars has announced the European Poker Tour Grand Final will return to Monte Carlo this year and will be known as PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final (using the French spelling of Monte Carlo with a hyphen.)
After a short-lived year in Madrid the €10,000 buy in main event goes back to the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Casino. Additionally the festival will host a €100,000 buy in Super High Roller event.
Last year, Ivan Freitez won the tournament in Madrid, but it’s 683 entrants was a big drop off from 2010’s 848 in Monte Carlo.
EPT President Edgar Stuchly said, “This will be the biggest and best EPT festival ever held, and we’re putting together an incredible tournament.”
