Nikolay Evdakov's Death At 47 Shocks Poker World

There was more sad news this week when it spread across various social networks that 47-year-old Russian pro Nikolay Evdakov had passed away. His wife Nataliya Evdakov posted the news on a Russian poker forum stunning the poker world.

In 2008 Evdakov set the record for the most cashes in one World Series of Poker with 10, two more than the previous record.

Evdakov’s funeral was held on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Troekurov Cemetery.

His name was mentioned frequently throughout the week, whether in condolences or in discussions about his achievements in the poker world. One place his name came up quite often was Twitter.
