Held in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Galway, Ireland, 698 players turned out for the €770 buy-in main event, but it was Mullin from Omagh in Northern Ireland who proved to be unstoppable taking home €100,000 for the top spot.

The final table took just five hours before the winner was crowned, and heads-up play saw Mullin face fellow Irishman Ronan Gilligan, who was most likely having a déjà vu moment. In 2010 Gilligan made his way to heads up at the UKIPT Dublin but had to settle for second and €43,400. This time around first place was not to be either but a chunkier sum of €73,650 was of some consolation.

The heads up started with almost equal stacks and Gilligan had just moved into the fore when a huge hand changed everything, giving Mullin the ammunition and momentum needed to reach the finish line.

With a prize pool of €473,945, 81 players were paid.

Here are the final table results and payouts:

1. Emmett Mullin (Ireland) €100,000
2. Ronan Gilligan (Ireland) €73,650
3. Joe Roberts (United Kingdom) €51,900
4. Craig Burke (Ireland) €30,750
5. Aleksandras Rusinovas (Lithuania) €24,150
6. John Willoughby (Ireland) €19,400
7. Nick Abou Risk (Canada) €14,700
8. Richard Haile (United Kingdom) €10,900

The next UKIPT event runs from Apr. 12-16 at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham.
