The $1,100 Ironman event at the 2012 L.A. Poker Classic broke its own record as the longest tournament completed nonstop, without a single break in play. The event lasted just over 20 hours and 30 minutes long, and in the end Eric Chorr came out victorious, earning his place in the history books, as well as the $43,020 first prize, and a $10,000 LAPC Main Event seat.
The previous record was set right here at the LAPC in 2010, with the tournament lasting 19 hours and 21 minutes. At that point this year, there were still four players remaining.
To keep this test of endurance from being lessened there were no deals allowed in this event. Also, to reward the stamina of the final player standing, the rules stated that the winner would take home exactly half of the total prize pool. The tournament kicked off at 6pm on February 21st at the Commerce Casino, drawing a total of 99 players.
