Poker Superstars Invitational Tourney III MagicAntonio Esfandiari Leaves Fellow Poker Pros Ferguson and Hellmuth in the Dust |
|
The magician worked his magic Sunday and beat two former World Series of Poker champions to make it into the quarterfinal round of the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament 3 that's being shown on FSN Sundays.
Antonio Esfandiari first knocked Chris Ferguson out of the competition, and then Phil Hellmuth to advance. A week ago, Johnny Chan beat the three players to move on. The semifinal round of the PSIT 3 is now halfway over. Esfandiari joins Mike Matusow, Chan and Card Player Magazine CEO Jeff Shulman in the quarterfinals.
The first match between Erick Lindgren, Barry Greenstein, Gus Hansen, and Freddy Deeb will be shown next week. The winner of that match moves on, while the remaining three players sit tight and play again. That match will be on in two weeks.
In the fourth group, the two winners came from the table of Todd Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, and Carlos Mortensen. But viewers will have to tune in to see how the contest turned out.
PSIT 3 is shown on FSN every Sunday at 8 p.m. local times. Click here to view CardPlayer.com's complete Internet coverage package of the show.
