Frenchman Wins WPT National Series Paris Open Of Poker

Gregory Benac Beats Tough Field And Final Table In Aviation Club de France

Champion Gregory BenacThe Aviation Club de France in Paris played host to the World Poker Tour National Series Paris Open of Poker from Mar. 16 to 25. The €1,500 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event attracted 370 players, including 44 re-entries, and standing victorious at the end of the event was Frenchman Gregory Benac.

Benac beat Japanese pro Shinya Shimada heads up for the €92,570 first place prize plus a ticket into the €7,500 WPT Grand Prix de Paris. Shimada walked away with €66,845 for his runner-up finish. In third place was 2009 World Series of Poker main event finalist Antoine Saout and he took home €51,420 from a total prize pool of €521,700.

Belgian pro Davidi Kitai finished just outside the final table, in ninth place for €12,855.

The Aviation Club de France Poker Tour Paris €750 no-limit hold’em freezeout was held over the weekend (Mar. 24 and 25) and this time it was a Russian who was left standing amidst dust and rubble. Nikolay Karman topped a field of 150 players including heads-up opponent Frenchman Nicolas Cardyn and took home the top prize of €25,780 plus a €1,500 ticket for the ACFPoker Tour Finale. Cardyn took the second best share of the €104,625 prize pool – €18,565.

The next stop on the World Poker Tour National Series is Casino Marbella. The €1,500 + €150 buy-in main event (featuring re-entry) will take place between Apr. 20 and 24 with two day 1s.
