Viktor “Isildur1” Blom finally got the better of his nemesis Isaac Haxton after he took the American for $500,000 in the most recent renewal of the PokerStars SuperStar Showdown.

Having been bested twice by Haxton in the series so far the 21-year-old Swede had revenge on his mind and it took 5,030 hands over 12 hours in three sessions to defy the bookmakers odds and turn the tables on his online foe.

Previous online battles saw the high rollers play over a fixed 2,500 hands with a $150,000 bankroll. At the end the winner was the player who was, quite simply, up.

This test was different.

Both had a starting tank of $500,000 and play would end only when one player had all the cash. The game was $200/$400 no-limit hold’em over four tables and four hour sessions.

Day one saw Blom streak ahead by $198,438. Day two saw him retain his momentum, and confidence, ending the session up $281,365 and by day three, despite Haxton coming back from just $16,000 to $160,000 he put the final nail in the coffin of the match to walk away with a $500,000 profit.
