Guy Laliberté and Jonathan Duhamel The $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop, the largest buy-in poker tournament in history, is set to take place at this summer’s 2012 World Series of Poker, with high stakes professionals battling it out against wealthy amateurs, all while raising money for a deserving charity (11.11% of each buy-in goes to raise money to help provide universal water access.)

The brainchild of One Drop founder and high stakes poker player Guy Laliberté, the tournament is going to be an event for the history books. And now, with the World Series of Poker’s newly announced series of satellites, players at all levels can take a shot at participating in this record setting affair, with buy-ins for satellites starting as low as $65.

Already, 15 casinos around the country have committed to host live step-satellite poker tournaments, all building towards a $25,300 buy-in mega satellite this will take place at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas on June 30th. This final satellite will feature a guaranteed $1,000,000 seat into The Big One for One Drop regardless of the number of entries, and beyond that one seat will be created for every 40 entries.

Players who qualify will have a chance to participate in the ESPN-televised tournament for the first-ever platinum WSOP bracelet and what is likely to be the largest first place prize in poker tournament history.
