This Week In Tournament Poker -- Apr. 9th - 16th

In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. FLORIDA

• The 2012 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown (Mar 28, ‘12 – Apr 22, ’12) The massive 57-event at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL is now entering into its third week of events. The highlights in the coming days include a $560 no-limit hold’em six-max event that begins on the 12th and an $1,100 no-limit hold’em event that begins on the 15th.

NEVADA

• The 2012 Spring Big Bounty Festival (Apr 12, ‘12 – Apr 22, ’12) The Venetian Hotel and Casino is hosting a 20-event series that kicks off on the 12th, with the first week’s highlight being a Player of the Year qualified $500 no-limit hold’em event that begins on the 14th. The series’ $2,200 no-limit hold’em main event will kick off on the 20th.

CALIFORNIA

• The 2012 National Championship of Poker (Apr 04, ‘12 – May 01, ’12) This eleven-event series at the Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood, CA continues into it’s second week, with some unique offerings including a $150 seven-card stud event that begins on the 12th and a $120 no-limit hold’em re-buy event with a $400,000 guarantee and a $100,000 first place guarantee, which will run ten days, with the first of nine starting days beginning on the 13th.

• The 2012 Liz Flynt Spring Poker Classic (Apr 05, ‘12 – Apr 26, ’12) The Hustler Casino’s 14-event sereis marches on, with this weeks highlights including a $300 buy-in no-limit hold’em team event that begins on the 12th and a $175 no-limit hold’em deepstack turbo event that kicks off on the 13th.

MIDWEST

• The 2012 WSOP Circuit Harrah’s St. Louis (Apr 12, ‘12 – Apr 23, ’12) The World Series of Poker Circuit pulls into St. Louis Missouri this week, with its standard 12-event series taking place at the Harrah’s St Louis Casino. The highlights of the first weeks events include a $565 no-limit hold’em event that begins on the 13th and a $355 pot-limit Omaha event that starts later that same day.

NORTHEAST

• The 2012 Borgata Spring Poker Open (Apr 04, ‘12 – Apr 20, ’12) The 21-event Borgata Spring Poker Open continues, with its second week of action highlighted by a number of big events, including a $1,090 no-limit hold’em re-entry that begins on the 13th, a $1,090 no-limit hold’em six-max re-entry that starts on the 14th and the marquee $2,700 no-limit hold’em main event that begins on the 15th and runs until a champion is determined on the 19th.

WESTERN STATES

• The 2012 Spring Poker Round-Up (Apr 12, ‘12 – Apr 22, ’12) The Wildhorse Resort and Casino in Pendleton, OR is hosting a 15-event spring series starting on the 12th and running through the 22nd. The first week’s highlights include a $215 no-limit hold’em shootout that starts on the 15th and a $215 Omaha eight-or-better event that begins on the 16th.
