Justin Bonomo The final table of eight is set in the 2012 European Poker Tour Grand Final €100,000 super high roller no-limit hold’em eight-max event, which got underway on Monday at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel and Casino.

The massive buy-in, which equates to roughly $132,000 USD, was posted a total 45 times, with a number of players re-entering after losing on their initial attempt. This built a prize pool of €4,432,500 ($5,853,559). Only six players will make the money, with a min-cash being worth €310,000 ($408,921), and the winner standing to gain €1,640,000 ($2,163,324).

After two days of play, eight of the biggest names in the game remain. Justin Bonomo holds the massive chip lead with 4,393,000 in chips, or roughly 41 percent of the total chips in play.

Jonathan Duhamel Even with such a massive lead, Bonomo will have to face some of the toughest in the game. Tobias Reinkemeier, Daniel Negreanu, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, and Masa Kagawa all have more than a million in chips with the blinds at 12,000-24,000 with a 3,000 ante. Even the short stacks are dangerous, as the players behind them are Patrik Antonius, Eugene Katchalov and Jonathan Duhamel.

Duhamel is currently ranked fourth in the Card Player Player of the Year race, with six prior final table finishes, one title and $1.34 million in earnings already in 2012. Duhamel could overtake the lead by finishing second place or higher in this event, as he is 450 points behind current leader Oliver Speidel, and second place will award 500 points.

Here is a look at the final table leader board:
