The Genting Poker Series Edinburgh has been won by Paul McTaggart who topped a disappointing field of 388 runners in the Scottish capital at the weekend.

Genting had confidently predicted just two days before the event that a record number of runners would participate expecting the field to best the 580 players who attended leg two in London in April.

However just 388 players showed up at the Genting Casino to take their shot in the €400 + €30 main event – around 30 to 30 percent less than had been hoped for. Forty-two players got paid and the winner McTaggart lifted the £32,685 top prize after a lengthy heads up duel with Paul Jackson.

The final table payouts, from a total prize pool of £155,200, were:
1: Paul McTaggart — £32,685
2: Paul Jackson — £30,000
3: Steve Miller — £18,390
4: Christopher McNicholls — £14,395
5: Barry Burns — £11,455
6: Paul Carnegie — £8,670
7: Robert Gregory — £6,190
8: Michael Kemp — £4,180
9: Gavin Stevenson — £2,630

Leg four of the tour will take place in Stoke from August 1 to 5, 2012.
