North Carolina Table Games Bill Heads to GovernorMeasure Would Authorize Live Dealer Poker Action |

A bill in North Carolina that would authorize Harrah’s Cherokee Casino to offer live dealer-based table games has passed the legislature and been sent to the governor’s desk.
The bill, which allocates money to education, underwent a handful of revisions before workings its way through the House and Senate.
The casino currently has electronic poker tables that spread a handful of limits.
Legislative approval of the measure comes after the state renegotiated a compact with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
Poker pro Chris Bell, who makes a living from the underground games in the state, told Card Player last month: “This is exciting for North Carolina, and the action in the [casino] games would be great.”
