Many of the world's poker fans subscribe to the same dream. Everyone wants to be a professional poker player. The only problem is that it is extremely difficult to get sponsorship and backing. There are plenty of great players out there, but it takes more than being a good player to catch a break.
With this in mind, the folks at paddypower.com have created a new promotion with these wannabe hopefuls in mind. The promotion will run for the next seven months and will make some lucky winner a paid professional poker player for one year.
The grand-prize package includes a salary of $70,000, $100,000 in tournament buy-ins, and $30,000 in travel expenses. Players vying for the grand prize will do battle in downtown Las Vegas at the Golden Nugget Casino on May 7, 2007.
Players have a chance to qualify online by winning a $600 buy-in monthly event that features a guaranteed prize package of $12,500 and a seat at the Poker Face tournament. All players at the final table will also receive a $12,500 package to the 2007 World Series of Poker.
