CANADA
- The 2012 Canadian Open Poker Championships (Aug 22, ‘12 – Sep 02, ’12) The Deerfoot Inn & Casino’s 10-event Canadian Open Poker Championships series continues this week in Calgary, Canada. Highlights include the prestigious $5,000 no-limit hold’em heads-up championship that begins on August 27th, as well as a $2,200 buy-in no-limit hold’em six-max event that begins on the 29th, a $1,100 no-limit hold’em event on the 30th and the $2,200 no-limit hold’em main event on the 31st.
SOUTH
- The 2012 River Poker Series (Aug 16, ‘12 – Sep 03, ’12) The WinStar Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma is approaching the climax of it’s massive 8-event series, the $2.5 million-guaranteed $2,100 no-limit hold’em re-entry main event that kicks off on Aug. 30th with the first of three starting days. The event will continue until a champion is decided on Sep. 3rd.
- The 2012 Gulf Coast Poker Championship (Aug 23, ‘12 – Sep 03, ’12) The Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi’s 15-event series continues in Biloxi, Mississippi. This week will feature the $2,600 no-limit hold’em single re-entry event, which gets underway on Aug. 31st and runs until the last player remains on Sep. 3rd.
CALIFORNIA
- The 2012 Commerce Hold’em Series (Aug 29, ‘12 – Sep 16, ’12) Tournament action returns to the largest poker room in the United States, the Commerce Casino just south of downtown Los Angeles, California. This series will play host to 19 events in total, with the highlight of the first weekend being the $225 buy-in, $250,000-guaranteed, four-day no-limit hold’em event which begins on Aug. 30th.
- The 2012 Labor Day Weekend Poker Tournament (Aug 31, ‘12 – Sep 03, ’12) In celebration of Labor Day, the Normandie Casino in Gardena, California is hosting a $120 buy-in no-limit hold’em event beginning on August 31st and running until a champion is crowned on Labor Day, Sep. 3rd. The event sports a $20,000 guaranteed prize pool.
- The 2012 Labor Day Weekend Championship (Sep 01, ‘12 – Sep 03, ’12) Pala Casino Spa and Resort in Pala, California also has a Labor Day no-limit hold’em event, featuring a $150 buy-in that begins on Sep. 1st with the first of two starting days, and the final day taking place on Labor Day.
NEVADA
- The 2012 Second Annual Kick Off Poker Classic (Aug 31, ‘12 – Sep 17, ’12) The Caesars Palace Casino in Las Vegas gets its 36-event series underway this week, with the first weekend’s highlights being the $240 buy-in no-limit hold’em events on both Saturday Sep. 1st and Sunday the 2nd.
FLORIDA
- The 2012 Jacksonville Summer Series (Aug 24, ‘12 – Sep 09, ’12) The bestbet Jacksonville has a 17-event series beginning on August 24th. This week’s highlights include a $340 no-limit hold’em event that starts on Aug. 30th and a $150 ‘all-in or fold’ no-limit hold’em event that takes place on Sep. 1st.
- The 2012 6th Annual Palm Beach Summer Classic (Aug 31, ‘12 – Sep 09, ’12) The Palm Beach Kennel Club in West Palm Beach, Florida kicks off its seven-event series this weekend, with early highlights including a $235 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that starts on Aug. 31st with the first of two starting days, playing down to a chmapion on Sep. 2nd.
