In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. EUROPE
- The 2012 WPT Grand Prix de Paris (Sep 10, ‘12 – Sep 15, ’12) The World Poker Tour returns to the Aviation Club de France in Paris for the Grand Prix de Paris, highlighted by the televised €7,500 ($9,221 USD) re-entry no-limit hold’em main event that begins on Sept. 10th and continues until a new champion is determined on the 15th. A €15,000 ($18,507 USD) high-roller event will also take place starting on the 15th and running through the 17th.
NORTHEAST
- The 2012 Borgata Poker Open (Sep 05, ‘12 – Sep 21, ’12) The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey is into the second week of its 21-event series, highlighted by the $3,500 World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open no-limit hold’em main event which begins on Sept. 16th. A number of other big events taking place this week include a $2,150 no-limit hold’em heads-up event on the 12th and two $1,500 no-limit hold’em re-entry events, one featuring a unique format that begins on the 13th with tables being eight-handed, changes to seven-handed and finishes as a six-max event. The other $1,500 buy-in is the “purple-chip bounty event” that begins on the 14th.
CALIFORNIA
- The 2012 Commerce Hold’em Series (Aug 29, ‘12 – Sep 16, ’12) The Commerce Casino continues its 19-event series, with a number of sizable events this week including a $1,100 no-limit hold’em bounty turbo that begins on the 11th, another $1,100 event on the 12th and the $2,080 championship no-limit hold’em event.
SOUTH
- The 2012 WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Bossier City (Sep 13, ‘12 – Sep 24, ’12) The World Series of Poker Circuit pulls into town at the Horseshoe Casino & Hotel in Bossier City, Louisiana this week. The series will feature 12 events, with early highlights including a $580 no-limit hold’em event and a $365 pot-limit Omaha event that begins on Sept. 14th.
NEVADA
- The 2012 Second Annual Kick Off Poker Classic (Aug 31, ‘12 – Sep 17, ’12) The Caesars Palace Casino in Las Vegas is nearing the completion of its 36-event series, with the highlight of the week being the three-day $560 no-limit hold’em championship event that begins on Sept. 15th.
