Nikos Grammis Wins Grand Series Of Poker Live Malta

Greek Takes Down Opening Event Of Grand Series Of Poker Live Season Three

The first stop of season three of the Grand Series Of Poker (GSOP) Live attracted more than *330 players to the Portomaso Casino in Malta. The victor was Greek player Nikos Grammis who was only playing his third ever live tournament.

Grammis took home €69,085 for the win. His final opponent, Michal Polchlopek, received €44,645 for a well-fought finish. The Polish player held the chip lead up until the closing stages when Grammis took it for the first time heads up and soon finished him off.

In the final hand, Grammis bet 160,000 from the button, Polchlopek made it 380,000, and Grammis four bet to 800,000. Polchlopek then moved all in only to see a quick call from Grammis. The Greek held AClub Suit 10Spade Suit while the Pole revealed ASpade Suit 9Spade Suit. The board came down 8Spade Suit 5Club Suit 4Club Suit KHeart Suit ADiamond Suit and it was all over.

The next stop will take place in Prague from Dec. 12. Last year it turned out to be the biggest ever GSOP Live tournament with 500 entrants.
