Popular Barcelona Stop Of European Masters Of Poker Heats Up

Season III Barcelona Champ Andreas HagenThe European Masters of Poker (EMOP) Barcelona €1,000 + €100 buy-in main event starts today, Sept. 13, and will find its champion on Sept. 16.

Last season, when Norwegian Andreas Hagen topped a field of 455 for a €90,310 payday, the popular stop’s main event went down as the highest attended tournament in EMOP history.

Season four’s installment will play out once again in the Casino Barcelona at the beautiful Port Olímpic and action peaks this afternoon with the kick-off of the main event at 4.30 p.m. (local time).

Day 1B begins at the same time tomorrow, and both days have a cap of 250. Players sit down to a starting stack of 20,000 and blinds start at 50-100 with antes coming in at level 5.

Levels will be 45 minutes long until level 7 when they increase to one hour. They will stay that way until a winner is found. The final table begins on Sunday at 5 p.m..

The festival kicked off on Sept. 10 and there are two side events remaining; a two-day, €300 + €30 no-limit hold’em freezeout on Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. and a €100 + €100 + €20 no-limit hold’em bounty turbo freezeout on Sept. 16 at 5 p.m.
