The 2012 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour moves on to leg 10 today at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London. The festival, which features a variety of side events, satellites, and indeed the £1,000 + £70 buy-in main event, will run until Sept. 24.
Today, Sept. 16, at 7.30 p.m. (local time) there is a £30 + £5 no-limit hold’em rebuy super satellite with 10 main event seats guaranteed. The one-day satellite sees players sit down to a starting stack of 2,000 (there is a 4,000 add-on) with blinds of 30 minutes for the first three levels and 20 minutes thereafter.
Action peaks on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 2 p.m. with the first of two starting days for the no-limit hold’em main event. Players start off with 20,000 in chips and one-hour blind levels, and re-entry and late entry is allowed for six levels. Players may re-enter once per day at the full registration fee.
Play begins at the same time for the second and third days of the tournament. In and around the main event are various side events. Re-entry and late entry is also allowed in these events, but only for the first three levels with no penalty.
Last year leg 2 and the Tour’s Grand Final were held at London’s Victoria Casino. In March, Praz Bansi won his second GUKPT title in the £1,500 main event by topping a field of 245 for a £101,020 payday, and then Fabian Quoss wrapped the action up in December by besting a field of 195 and walking away from the £2,500 buy-in main event with £138,750.
