The Quad Resort & CasinoOn Monday, Caesars Entertainment announced that they had chosen a new name for the Las Vegas Strip property currently known as the Imperial Palace. The new property will begin its transformation to The Quad Resort & Casino as early as November, with renovations scheduled to wrap up in late 2013.

The company is hoping to position the resort as the center of the Las Vegas Strip and will make exterior and structural renovations to suit the new design.

“As we renovate and modernize the property, it was only appropriate that we also update the name,” said Rick Mazer, the resort’s president. “This property has always been known as a hub of social activity, where anyone can come relax and have a good time. As we update our offerings we want to further enhance that feeling of fun and connectivity. We think the name, The Quad, really embodies those sentiments.”

The new casino will feature an additional 15,000 square feet of gaming space, a night club and a gift shop. The property will face north, instead of towards the Strip and will offer a walkway that allows pedestrians to connect from the Harrah’s Carnaval Court through The Quad and into The LINQ, Caesars Entertainment’s $550 million retail, dining and entertainment district, also scheduled to be completed late next year.
