The Winamax European Shorthanded Poker Championship kicks off today, Sept. 26, at the Regency Airport Hotel in Dublin, Ireland.
At 8 p.m. (local time) this evening there is a €60 main event super satellite with one rebuy and one add-on or two rebuys. Day 1B of the main event is now closed for registration so the satellite will award seats for day 1A only.
The highlight of the Championship, the Winamax Poker Open six-max event, gets going Thursday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m.. Players sit down to a 20,000 chip stack and one hour blind levels.
The €550 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event, which features a guaranteed prize pool of €300,000, runs until Sept. 30 when a winner will be crowned. Last year, Englishman Stephen King took the €63,000 top prize for besting a total field of 656.
There is a variety of side events taking place during the festival. Saturday, Sept. 29, sees the start of a two-day, €300 no-limit hold’em event at 2 p.m.. The starting stack is 15,000 and blind levels are 45 minutes in length. At 4 p.m. there is a two-day, €200 pot-limit Omaha triple chance event featuring a 12,000 starting stack and a 30-minute clock.
There is a €200 no-limit hold’em event on Sunday, Sept. 30, starting at 2 p.m.. It lasts one day and has a 30-minute clock with a starting stack of 10,000.
A €100 no-limit hold’em turbo side event takes place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening at 8 p.m.. The starting stack is 7,000 and the blind levels increase every 15 minutes.
