In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. EUROPE

Casino San Remo

  • The 2012 European Poker Tour San Remo (Oct 03, ‘12 – Oct 11, ’12) High-stakes tournament action returns to the Italian seaside resort-town of San Remo, with the European Poker Tour San Remo €5,300 no-limit hold’em main event kicking off this week starting on Oct. 5th and continuing until a new EPT champion is decided on Oct. 11th.
  • The 2012 World Series of Poker Europe (Sept. 21 to Oct. 4). The World Series of Poker Europe is winding down this week at the Majestic Barrière Hotel in Cannes, France. With the Main Event continuing, the only marquee event remaining is the ultra high-stakes €50,000 buy-in super high-roller no-limit hold’em event which kicks off on Oct. 2nd and continues until a winner is determined on the 4th.

NEVADA

  • The 2012 Fall Pot of Gold (Sept. 27 to Oct 7). The 31-event Fall Pot of Gold series continues into its final week at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada. The highlight of the coming days will undeniably be the $1,080 no-limit hold’em main event that kicks off on Oct. 6th, with a $100,000 prize pool guaranteed.

CALIFORNIA

  • 2012 Big Poker Oktober (Sept. 21 – Oct. 13). The 27-event Big Poker Oktober series continues this week at The Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, California. The highlight this week is a $300 buy-in no-limit hold’em deepstack event with a $50,000 guarantee that starts on Oct. 6th.
  • The 2012 Haig Kelegian Poker Classic (Oct 06, ‘12) The Ocean’s Eleven Casino in Oceanside, California is playing host to a $330 buy-in no-limit hold’em event in honor of Casino owner and legendary promotor of poker in Southern California, Haig Kelegian. The event kicks off at 10:00 AM on Oct. 6th.

MIDWEST

  • The 2012 Ultimate Overlay Tournament and Fall Poker Classic (Oct 1, 12 – Oct 21, 12) The Canterbury Park Racetrack & Card Club in Shakopee, Minnessota kicks off back-to-back event on Monday Oct. 1st, starting with the $130 buy-in no-limit hold’em Ultimate Overlay Tournament, featuring a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool. That event will run through Oct. 4th, and then on Oct. 6th the 2012 _Fall Poker Classic will get underway the first of its 16 events, a $340 buy-in no-limit hold’em event.
