The World Poker Tour pulls into South Africa for the first time ever today.
Emperors Palace, Johannesburg hosts the eight-event festival, the centerpiece of which will be the $3,300 + $300 main event which starts Monday, has two day 1s and ends Friday.
The supporting schedule includes today’s $500 + $50 buy in no-limit hold’em event, a ladies championship, a six-handed no-limit hold’em tournament, a $10,000 buy in high roller event, $2,000 buy in pot-limit hold’em event and a $500 no-limit hold’em bounty turbo game.
Online poker in South Africa is illegal but is still offered by many operators.
