The Genting Poker Series sets up shop in Sheffield today Wednesday November 21 with its €400 + €30 main event getting underway Thursday.
The fifth stop in the Series sees a £100,000 guarantee for the main event which has already been smashed with the news that 253 qualifiers had already qualified or the tournament.
Gary Oakes, poker manager at Genting, said; “It is an incredible achievement to see not only the guarantee beaten already, but to see almost 200 players register online for a live tournament!
“It shows how popular the Genting Poker Series has become in its first year, now one of the most important series in UK poker.”
The winner of the main event will also receive a seat in the upcoming £200,000 grand final which will take place from December 1 to 9 at the Fox Poker Club, London.
In addition to a full schedule of side events at the Series Genting pro Paul “Action” Jackson will be doing a questions and answers session tonight at 7.30 p.m.
