Sen. Harry Reid Testy Over Online Poker Question

Lawmaker From Nevada Still Has Draft Bill In The Works

Addressing a group of reporters Tuesday regarding the “fiscal cliff,” Nevada Sen. Harry Reid mentioned that a potential online poker plan would now have Republican votes, but he implied that the chances are grim for passing a measure anytime very soon.

The American Gaming Association, the industry’s top lobbying group, told Card Player about a week ago that it’s engaged in a “full-court press” to make the activity legal nationwide. If online poker wasn’t a stand-alone bill, it could be tacked onto a broader piece of legislation.

In late November, Reid said that there was zero Republican support.
