Macau Scores $38B In Gambling Revenue In 2012December Strongest Ever For The World's Largest Casino Market |

Macau brought in $38 billion in gambling revenue in 2012 — a 13.5 percent gain from the previous year, according to data released Wednesday from the local government.
While the figure is a record for the former Portuguese colony, its growth slowed from a 42.2 percent year-over-year gain when the numbers were released around this time last year.
December 2012 was the most lucrative ever for casino operators there, as revenues reached $3.54 billion for just that four-week period.
Macau has the largest gambling market in the world and is home to some of the biggest poker games around, though many details on them are mostly unknown.
Some of poker’s biggest names, including Gus Hansen, Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey and Sam Trickett, spend time at the tables there. As Macau could suffer overall from stronger enforcement of China’s money-flow restrictions in 2013, these high-stakes games could be affected as well.
