The president of the Poker Players Alliance and three professional players are making themselves available to media outlets this week to talk about online poker and the anti-online gambling legislation that George Bush is expected to sign into law possibly as soon as Friday.

Mike Sexton, Annie Duke, Barry Greenstein, and PPA President Michael Bolcerek will find themselves in front of cameras and in newspapers in New York, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and in conversations with reporters around the world via telephone.

Fans of online poker know that Congress recently passed a Homeland Security measure to strengthen the nation's ports, but Republican leadership inserted language into the act that is designed to cut off player's abilities to fund their online gaming accounts.

Other poker news sites reported that Sexton was embarking on a media blitz this week that was supported by PartyPoker, but Sexton confirmed that this was not true. The PPA, with 120,000-plus members, is a nonprofit organization fighting for the rights of poker players in the US. It is not affiliated with any online poker site.

Media outlets should contact John Pappas at 202-715-1514, or [email protected] to set up interviews.
