Viktor Blom was on a mammoth upswing to start 2013, winning more than $4 million in just over a week. However, over the past 24 hours he gave back $500,000 of those profits.
The plunge on Full Tilt Poker came in a rematch against Ben Sulsky, who recouped some of this losses to Blom from earlier in the week. Sulsky was the biggest winner in the online poker world in 2012, but got off to a poor start this year thanks to Blom’s heater.
One of the biggest hands of their most recent session began with Blom getting four-bet preflop. Blom called from the button, and the duo saw a flop of 8 6 4. Sulsky slowed down by checking to Blom, who bet $8,800. Sulsky just called.
The 10 on the turn promoted another check from the New Hampshire native. The Swede bet $26,400, and Sulsky check-called once again.
The 6 hit the river, and Sulsky checked to his opponent for a third time. Blom bet $87,500, and Sulsky called with the A 10 6 A for a runner-runner full house. Blom mucked the K 5 Q 3, which gave him the king-high flush.
Sulsky raked in the massive $262,500 pot at $400-$800 pot-limit Omaha.
Blom and Sulsky might resume their high-flying pot-limit Omaha action Thursday, according to their comments in the chat box after the session concluded.
