The £700 + £70 event was won by Nicolau Villa-Lobos of Brazil who walked away with £101,000 from the £415,548 prize pool after overcoming his final table short stack status.
Villa-Lobos knocked out three players, including Edinburgh native and former UKIPT grand final winner David Vamplew, en route to his heads up duel with Bulgarian Vladislav Donchev.
Villa-Lobos started this joust with a 7:1 chip lead lasted just a few hands before Donchev went all in with Q-7 and the Brazilian called with A-Q for a straightforward victory.
The 24-year-old, who recovered from heart surgery six years ago, said after his win, “Today was another day and I was in the small blind so knew I had an orbit to play.
