A pair of cafeteria workers in Pennsylvania reportedly have admitted to losing nearly $94,000 in school lunch money at the slot machines at a nearby casino.
One admitted to stealing the funds over a nearly two-year period, while the other gambler admitted to knowing where the money came from, the Associated Press reported Tuesday.
Both women reportedly are sorry and trying to repay the school. According to the Associated Press, on Monday they waived a preliminary hearing on the charges.
The 50-year-old and 49-year-old’s gambling took place at The Meadows Racetrack and Casino, located in Washington, Pennsylvania.
This story is similar to that of a New York nun who was accused of stealing $128,000 for her gambling habit, and that of numerous cases which sporadically pop up in some countries.
