Two of poker's hottest young stars have committed to playing in the Betfair Asian Poker Tour in November. John "The Razor" Phan and Liz "The Poker Diva" Lieu will join Team Full Tilt member Gus Hansen in Singapore for this inaugural $5,000 buy-in event.
Both were born in Vietnam, but having learned their poker chops in the United States, Phan and Lieu will get the chance to participate in this multicultural event and both are showing their generous nature by offering to donate 20 percent of their winnings to charity.
As the world's poker market continues to grow and expand, Asia has become a critical venue for live action and this tournament is the area's first major event. Phan and Lieu both said they are excited to see the game's growth in Asia.
Star participants Phan, Lieu, and Hansen will have to do battle with the likes of Europe's top player in 2005, Willie Tann. Tann was born in Singapore and this event is a homecoming for a man who is one of Europe's elite players. Also joining in on the action will be Betfair Poker pros Ben Grundy, Thomas Bhil, and Swedish star Bengt Sonnert.
