In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. FLORIDA

  • The Card Player Poker Tour Caribbean Cruise (Apr 13, ’13 – Apr 20, ’13) Card Player Cruises will host the first-ever Card Player Poker Tour Caribbean Cruise tournament series starting this weekend aboard the MS Oasis of the Seas, sailing from Fort Lauderdale, FL on Apr. 13th and making stops in Labadee, Haiti; Falmouth, Jamaica; and Cozumel, Mexico. The highlight of the trip, at least as far as the poker is concerned, will of course be the $1,100 main event which kicks off on Apr. 15th and continues until the next CPPT champion is decided on Apr. 18th.
  • The 2013 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown (Apr 11, ‘13 – Apr 16, ’13) The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Hollywood, FL will host the $2,000,000 guaranteed, $5,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown championship event starting on Apr. 11th. The champion will be decided on Apr. 16th at the televised WPT final table.
  • The 2013 Jacksonville Spring Series (Apr 11, ‘13 – Apr 30, ’13) The bestbet Jacksonville kicks off its 18-event tournament series this week, with the early highlight being a $100,000 guaranteed, four-day, $340 buy-in no-limit hold’em event beginning on Apr. 11th with the first of three starting days.

INTERNATIONAL

  • 2013 World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific (Apr 04, ‘13 – Apr 15, ’13) The Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia moves into the second week of the inaugural World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific, a five-gold bracelet series with a $50,000 AUD high-roller and an international Caesars Cup challenge thrown in for good measure. This week’s highlights include the $5,000 AUD no-limit hold’em six-max event that starts on Apr. 9th and of course the $10,000 AUD WSOP APAC main event, which begins on Apr. 11th and continues until a champion is decided on Apr. 15th. For the nosebleed players, the $50,000 AUD no-limit high roller with rebuys gets underway on Apr. 13th.

NEVADA

  • 2013 Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza II (Mar 28, ‘13 – Apr 25, ’13) The Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV continues into the third week of its mammoth 85-event _Deep Stack Extravaganza _II series, with highlights in the coming days including a $400 Omaha/seven-card stud eight-or-better (O.E.) event that begins on Apr. 8th and a $600 no-limit hold’em event starting on Apr. 12th.

CALIFORNIA

  • 2013 Liz Flynt Spring Poker Classic (Apr 05, ‘13 – May 01, ’13) The Hustler Casino in Gardena, CA continues with it’s spring tournament series this week, with the highlight being a $500 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament with a $200,000 guarantee as well as a $10,000 WSOP seat added.

SOUTH

  • 2013 WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Cherokee (Apr 04, ‘13 – Apr 15, ’13) The WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Cherokee series, with 12 gold-ring events scheduled, moves into its second week with the highlight being the $1,675 no-limit hold’em main event which begins on Apr. 12th with the first of two starting days.

MIDWEST

  • 2013 WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Council Bluffs (Apr 11, ’13 – Apr 22, ’13) The Horseshoe Casino & Hotel-Council Bluffs in Council Bluffs, IA will host the next series of 12 gold-ring events on the WSOP Circuit, kicking off with a $365 no-limit hold;em event on Apr. 11th.

PACIFIC NORTHWEST

  • 2013 Spring Poker Round-Up (Apr 11, ‘13 – Apr 21, ’13) The Wildhorse Resort Casino in Pendleton, OR brings top-flight poker action to Northwest Oregon, with 14 events scheduled for the coming weeks starting on Apr. 12th. Early highlights include a number of $215 no-limit hold’em events throughout the weekend, with a shootout format event starting on Apr. 14th.
