Carnivale Of Poker Returns To 2013 World Series of PokerSeries Will Feature 21 Total Events |

In a blast from the tournament circuit past, the World Series of Poker has announced that the Carnivale of Poker will return for the 2013 summer series.
The Carnivale of Poker was a short-lived tournament series that took place between 1998 and 2000 at both the Rio and Harrah’s Casinos in Las Vegas. This year’s series will also take place at the Rio, running concurrently with the WSOP.
“We’re very excited to bring the Carnivale of Poker back to the Rio once again,” said WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel. “It’s a part of the Rio’s rich history and those who participated in the original event series will remember it fondly. We can’t think of a bigger and better stage to bring it back than here with the WSOP.”
The 21-event series will feature Hold’em, Omaha, Chinese and Mixed Games variations with buy-ins ranging from $365 to $5,000. Most of the events will take place on Monday and Tuesday mornings beginning at 11 a.m., before the WSOP bracelet events begin.
A specialized point system will be implemented to track player results. Those who finish within the top ten of the leaderboard will receive a share of $100,000 in added prizes, with the overall points winner taking home $25,000.
