In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. NEVADA
- The 44th Annual World Series of Poker (May 29, ‘13 – Jul 15, ’13) The 44th annual World Series of Poker kicked off last week and already its breaking records while awarding huge paydays and gold bracelets. The action continues this week, with highlights including a $1,500 no-limit hold’em event beginning on June 6th at noon and a $10,000 no-limit hold’em heads-up event starting on June 7th at 5:00 PM. For mixed-game players there will also be the $5,000 seven card stud eight-or-better event on June 5th at 5:00 PM and the $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. on June 7th, also starting at 5:00.
- The 2013 Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza III (May 23, ‘13 – Jul 21, ’13) The Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV is moving into the third week of its expansive summer_Deep Stack Extravaganza_ tournament series, hosted in the beautiful Sands Poker Room. This years schedule sports a total of 218 events taking place between May 23rd and July 21st. This week’s highlights include a $600 five-card pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better (“Big O”) event that starts on June 3rd at 4:00 PM and a $2,500 no-limit hold’em event beginning on June 7th at noon. The $5,000 main event starts on July 13th, and will feature live coverage and an online table broadcast by CardPlayer.com as part of the Card Player Poker Tour.
- The 2013 Wynn Summer Classic (Jun 07, ‘13 – Jun 10, ’13) The Wynn Las Vegas kicks off its summer poker tournament series this week, with the early highlight being the $250,000 guaranteed $550 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that kicks off with the first of three starting days on June 7th at noon.
- The 2013 Caesars Palace Summer Mega Stack Poker Series (May 24, ‘13 – Jul 14, ’13) Caesars Palace Las Vegas in Las Vegas, NV continues into the third week of its 103-event tournament series this week, with affordable buy-ins throughout the summer. The week’s highlights include a $240 pot-limit Omaha event on June 4th and a $350 no-limit hold’em event that starts on June 5th.
- The 2013 Binion’s Poker Classic (May 25, ‘13 – Jul 07, ’13) The birthplace and former home of the WSOP, Binion’s Hotel and Casino, will host its own tournament series this summer with a total of 47 events to choose from. This week will see a $1,000 no-limit hold’em event that get underway on June 7th at noon.
- The 2013 Grand Poker Series (Jun 01, ‘13 – Jul 07, ’13) A total of 80 events are scheduled for the Golden Nugget’s annual summer tournament series, which kicked off this past weekend. The upcoming week will see a number of great events, including a $230 Omaha eight-or-better tournament on June 3rd at noon and a $230 Badugi/ 2-7 triple draw event on June 5th at noon.
CALIFORNIA
- The 2013 Los Angeles Poker Series (Jun 04, ‘13 – Jun 27, ’13) The bicycle Casino kicks off a 23-event poker series this week, with the early highlight being a $100 buy-in no-limit hold’em re-entry event that will feature ten starting flights beginning on June 6th at noon, with each days second flight starting at 6:00 PM.
INTERNATIONAL
- The 2013 PokerStars.net APPT Macau (Jun 07, ‘13 – Jun 16, ’13) The City of Dreams in Macau will host an 11-event tournament series starting this weekend, with the kickoff event being a $3,300 no-limit hold’em tournament that begins on June 7th. The talk of the whole series, however, is the $100,000 high roller which gets underway on June 15th.
