In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. NEVADA
- The 44th Annual World Series of Poker (May 29, ‘13 – Jul 15, ’13) The 44th annual World Series of Poker has already awarded 26 gold bracelets, but there are still 36 more that are up for grabs this summer at The Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. The highlights this week include event a $5,000 no-limit hold’em six-max event that begins on June 18th at noon and the $10,000 no-limit deuce-to-seven lowball championship event, which gets underway on June 23rd at 5:00 PM. - The 2013 Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza III (May 23, ‘13 – Jul 21, ’13) The Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV is moving into the fifth week of it’s gigantic summer_Deep Stack Extravaganza III_ tournament series, and will play host a to a number of great tournaments this week including a $2,500 no-limit hold’em event that starts on June 17th at noon, a $1,100 deuce-to-seven triple draw lowball event on June 19th beginning at 11:00 AM and a $1,600 no-limit hold’em six-max (with a possible cap on the field) which kicks off on June 20th at 4:00 PM. The $5,000 no-limit hold’em main event starts on July 13th, and will feature live coverage and an online final table broadcast by CardPlayer.com as part of the Card Player Poker Tour.
- The 2013 Wynn Summer Classic (Jun 07, ’13 – Jun 26, ’13) The Wynn Las Vegas continues this week, with the highlight being the $5,180 no-limit hold;em championship which gets underway with the first of two starting days on June 22nd at noon.
- The 2013 Caesars Palace Summer Mega Stack Poker Series (May 24, ‘13 – Jul 14, ’13) Caesars Palace Las Vegas in Las Vegas, NV keeps on with it’s own huge 103-event tournament series this week, with affordable buy-ins throughout the summer. This week’s notable events include a $240 pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better event starting on June 18th at 4:00 PM and a $350 no-limit hold’em six-max event beginning at noon.
- The 2013 Binion’s Poker Classic (May 25, ‘13 – Jul 07, ’13) The birthplace and former home of the WSOP, Binion’s Hotel and Casino, will host its own tournament series this summer with a total of 47 events to choose from. This week’s highlights include a $1,000 no-limit hold’em event on June 17th starting at noon and a $300 pot-limit Omaha six-max event starting at 2:00 PM on June 20th.
- The 2013 Grand Poker Series (Jun 01, ‘13 – Jul 07, ’13) A total of 80 events are scheduled for the Golden Nugget’s annual summer tournament series, which moves into it’s third full week with highlights including a $230 seven card stud/razz/seven card stud eight-or-better event beginning June 17th at noon and a $230 H.O.R.S.E. event kicking off on June 18th at noon.
CALIFORNIA
- The 2013 Los Angeles Poker Series (Jun 04, ‘13 – Jun 27, ’13) The Bicycle Casino’s Summer series continues this week with the highlight being a $150,000 guaranteed $235 no-limit hold’em deepstack re-entry event that kicks off with the first of six-starting flights at 1:00 PM on June 20th. The second starting flight is later the same day at 6:00 PM, and the next four flights start in the same pattern on the following two days.
