In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. NEVADA
- The 44th Annual World Series of Poker (May 29, ‘13 – Jul 15, ’13) The 44th annual World Series of Poker has already awarded 39 gold bracelets, but there are still 23 more that are up for grabs this summer at The Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. This week will see a number of big and exciting events take place, including the $111,111 One Drop High Rollers no-limit hold’em event which begins on June 26th at noon, the $25,000 six-max no-limit hold’em championship beginning on June 28th at 5:00 PM and the $50,000 Poker Players Championship eight-game mix event, which starts on June 30th at 5:00 PM. - The 2013 Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza III (May 23, ‘13 – Jul 21, ’13) The Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV continues with it’s gigantic summer Deep Stack Extravaganza III tournament series, with a number of great tournaments on offer this week including a $1,100 no-limit hold’em event at on June 28th starting at noon,a $1,100 pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better event starting later the same day at 4:00 PM and a %600 deuce-to-seven triple draw event on June 30th at 11:00 AM. The $5,000 no-limit hold’em main event starts on July 13th, and will feature live coverage by CardPlayer.com as part of the Card Player Poker Tour.
- The 2013 Aria Classic (Jun 17, ‘13 – Jul 01, ’13) The Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV kicked off it’s own Summer Series last week, with 27 events on offer. The highlight of this week’s scheduled is the $1,080 no-limit hold’em championship event which kicks off at 6:00 PM on June 30th.
- The 1st Annual Hollywood Poker Open (Jun 28, ‘13 – Jun 30, ’13) The M Resort in Henderson, Nevada hosts it’s first-ever Hollywood Poker Open, whose $500,000 guaranteed, $2,500 no-limit hold’em main event gets underway at June 28th. Players can re-enter if they are eliminated before the end of level 6. Each level will last for 60 minutes and players will be given 30,000 in tournament chips to start.
- The 2013 Caesars Palace Summer Mega Stack Poker Series (May 24, ‘13 – Jul 14, ’13) Caesars Palace Las Vegas in Las Vegas, NV keeps on plowing through it’s own huge 103-event tournament series this week, with affordable buy-ins on the menu throughout the summer. This week’s notable events include two $350 no-limit hold’em event at noon on the 26th and 28th, as well as a $240 pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better six-max event on June 26th beginning at 4:00 PM.
- The 2013 Binion’s Poker Classic (May 25, ‘13 – Jul 07, ’13) The birthplace and former home of the WSOP, Binion’s Hotel and Casino, is hosting its own tournament series this summer with a total of 47 events to choose from. This week’s highlights include a $1,000 no-limit hold’em tournament on June 26th beginning at noon and a $200 H.O.R.S.E. event on June 27th at 2:00 PM.
- The 2013 Grand Poker Series (Jun 01, ‘13 – Jul 07, ’13) A total of 80 events are scheduled for the Golden Nugget’s annual summer tournament series, which moves into it’s fourth full week with highlights including a $230 eight-game mix event on June 26th at noon and a $230 “O.E.” (Omaha eight-or-better/stud eight-or-better) event that begins at noon on June 28th.
CALIFORNIA
- The 2013 Los Angeles Poker Series (Jun 04, ‘13 – Jun 27, ’13) The Bicycle Casino’s Summer series moves into it’s final week, with a number of $150 buy-in events including a H.O.R.S.E. event on June 26th at 1:00 PM and two no-limit hold’em deepstacks on the 26th and 27th at 4:00 PM.
- The 2013 Stars and Stripes (Jun 28, ‘13 – Jul 15, ’13) The Bicycle Casino just keeps on offering up fantastic poker action, with this tournament series following on the heels of the Los Angeles Poker Series. The kickoff event on June 28th is a $150,000 guaranteed $235 no-limit hold’em re-entry event, with two starting flights at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM on the 28th, 29th and 30th.
