The Week's Biggest Tournaments Broken Down By Region

In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. Check out all the tournament action set to go down in your own backyard from July 1st through the 7th. Head to our tournament database for more information.

NEVADA

  • The 44th Annual World Series of Poker (May 29, ‘13 – Jul 15, ’13) The 44th annual World Series of Poker is entering its final stages, with only seven events yet to start from it’s gigantic 62-event schedule. The highlights of the coming week include event no. 58, the $1,111 Little One For One Drop no-limit hold’em re-buy event, which kicks off on July 3rd at noon, the $10,000 pot-limit Omaha championship event that begins at 5:00 PM on July 5th and of course the biggest tournament of the year, the $10,000 WSOP no-limit hold’em main event, which gets underway with the first of three starting days at noon on July 6th. Play will continue until the final table of nine is set on July 15th.
  • The 2013 Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza III (May 23, ‘13 – Jul 21, ’13) The Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV moves into the second half of it’s expansive Deep Stack Extravaganza III tournament series, with a number of great tournaments on offer this week including a $1,100 pot-limit Omaha event beginning on July 1st at 4:00 PM and a $1,600 no-limit hold’em six-max on July 3rd, also starting at 4:00 PM. The $5,000 no-limit hold’em main event starts on July 13th, and will feature live coverage by CardPlayer.com as part of the Card Player Poker Tour.
  • The 2013 Bellagio Cup IX (Jul 05, ‘13 – Jul 15, ’13) The Bellagio kicks off it’s Summer series, the Bellagio Cup, this week with early highlights including a $5,180 no-limit hold’em event starting on July 7th.
  • The 2013 Caesars Palace Summer Mega Stack Poker Series (May 24, ‘13 – Jul 14, ’13) Caesars Palace Las Vegas in Las Vegas, NV keeps on plowing through it’s own huge 103-event tournament series this week, with affordable buy-ins on the menu throughout the summer. This week’s highlights include a $350 heads-up no-limit hold’em event on July 1st at 4:00 PM and $240 no-limit hold’em mixed-max event on July 2nd starting at 4:00 PM
  • The 2013 Binion’s Poker Classic (May 25, ‘13 – Jul 07, ’13) The birthplace and former home of the WSOP, Binion’s Hotel and Casino, is hosting its own tournament series this summer with a total of 47 events to choose from. This week’s highlights include a $1,000 no-limit hold’em event on July 1st starting at noon.
  • The 2013 Grand Poker Series (Jun 01, ‘13 – Jul 07, ’13) A total of 80 events are scheduled for the Golden Nugget’s annual summer tournament series, which moves into it’s final stretch this week with the highlight being the $1,080 no-limit hold’em championship event, which gets underway on July 3rd at noon.

CALIFORNIA

  • The 2013 Stars and Stripes (Jun 28, ‘13 – Jul 15, ’13) The Bicycle Casino’s latest tournament series moves into it’s first full week, with the highlight being a $345 no-limit hold’em tournament with a $150,000 guaranteed-prizepool that gets underway with the first of four starting flights On July 5th at 4 PM.   • The 2013 4th of July Poker Tournament (Jul 04, ‘13) For players looking for some poker action on America’s Independence Day, the Normandie Casino in Gardena, CA is hosting a $75 no-limit hold’em event on the 4th of July starting at 1:00 PM.

FLORIDA

  • The bestbet Jacksonville 2013 July Guarantee (Jul 05, ‘13 – Jul 07, ’13) The day after the fireworks of the 4th of July, bestbet Jacksonville’s poker room will see some fireworks of it’s own when it hosts a $200 buy-in, $50,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em event that kicks off with the first of four starting flights at noon on July 5th. The second flight gets underway at 7:00 PM, and the third and fourth flights will be at the same times on July 6th. Surviving players will return to play down to a champion on July 7th.
