In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. SOUTH
- The 2013 Card Player Poker Tour Choctaw Casino (Jul 18, ’13 – Aug 05, ’13) The Card Player Poker Tour has returned to the Choctaw Casino in Durant, OK with an exciting 54-event series of tournaments. This week will see a number of great tournaments, but the undeniable highlight will be the $1,500+$120 CPPT no-limit hold’em main event that begins with the first of two starting days on August 1st and features a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. The final table will be streamed live on CardPlayer.com on Monday, August 5th. For players looking to satellite into the main event, there will be a $100+$20 mega satellite held each day at 5:00 PM from July 29th – 31st, as well as four $230 mega satellites being held on Aug. 1st and 2nd and two more $230 turbo satellites. There will also be single-table satellites available, so there are plenty of ways to qualify for the main event at a discount.
CALIFORNIA
- The 2013 WPT Legends of Poker (Jul 28, ‘13 – Sep 04, ’13) The World Poker Tour has also returned to the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, CA for it’s 30-event Legends of Poker series. The highlight this week is a $150,000 guaranteed $150 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that features seven starting flights, with the first having kicked off on Aug. 28th at 6:00 PM. The flights kick off at noon and 6:00 each day on the 29th through the 31st, with the surviving players coming back on Aug. 1st to play down to champion.
- The 2013 Hawaiian Gardens Casino 100K Tournament (Jul 29, ‘13 – Aug 01, ’13) The Hawaiian Gardens Casino is hosting a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool no-limit hold’em event with a $115 buy-in. There are five starting flights kicking off from July 29th through the 31st, with the surviving players coming back on August 1st to play down to a winner.
- The 2013 Dog Days of Summer (Aug 03, ‘13) The Ocean’s Eleven Casino in Oceanside, CA is hosting a $225 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament starting at 10:00 AM on August 3rd.
NORTHEAST
- The 2013 Mohegan Sun’s Summer Showdown (Jul 31, ‘13 – Aug 04, ’13) The Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT is hosting a five-event series this week, highlighted by a $1,100 no-limit hold’em event that will kick off on August 3rd at 11:00 AM.
- The 2013 Parx Casino Big Stax III (Aug 01, ‘13 – Aug 19, ’13) The Parx Casino in bensalem, PA kicks off it’s 10-event series of tournaments this week with a five-day $330 buy-in no-limit hold’em event, with the first if three starting days beginning at 11:00 AM on August 1st.
- The 2013 Summer Slam Series (Jul 30, ‘13 – Aug 04, ’13) The Seneca Niagra Casino and Hotel in Niagra Falls, NY is hosting a five-event series of poker tournaments starting later this week, with the highlight being the $600 no-limit hold’em main event which begins on Aug. 3rd at 11:00 AM.
