Cincinnati Casino Makes $1 Million Mistake

Huge Prize Awarded To The Wrong Patron

The Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati reportedly just made a $1 million mistake.

The property awarded the wrong man a seven-figure prize after a loyalty card contest.

“There were a lot of similarities between the two gentlemen that led to confusion on our end,” casino spokeswoman Jennifer Kulczycki told Cincinnati.com.

“It was human error,” she added.

Two men by the name of Kevin Lewis, with about the same age, location and other pertinent personal information was the cause of the mix up. When the right Kevin Lewis won the prize, the casino mistakenly gave the other Kevin Lewis the win.

Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati will reportedly allow the wrong Lewis to keep the money, as well as given the true winner his payout.

Ohio gambling regulators are reportedly looking into the matter to see what went wrong.

“The commission is doing its due diligence and reviewing procedures regarding the promotion,” Tama Davis, a spokeswoman for the Ohio Casino Control Commission, told Cincinnati.com. “All initial conversations confirm it was simply human error.”

The casino opened earlier this year, becoming the fourth casino in the Buckeye State. It raked in $21 million in gaming revenue during March, which was a solid debut.

The state’s other casinos are in Toledo, Columbus and Cleveland.

Ohio legalized commercial Las Vegas-style casinos in 2009.
