888 Poker announced that it has signed 2013 World Series of Poker main event final table chip leader J.C. Tran. Tran is the favorite to win the bracelet come November.
Tran, hailing from Sacramento, has 38 million in chips. The second-best stack (Amir Lehavot) has 29.7 million.
Inbal Lavi, Vice President of 888poker, said in a statement:
“We are excited to have JC Tran join our Team 888poker, his attitude towards the game and inviting personality embodies what we look for in our Team ambassadors. This year Team 888poker will be at its strongest and should bring some exciting content and opportunities to our continuously growing poker room. Good luck to Tran and the rest of our Team.”
Tran said in a statement: “I am extremely excited to work with 888poker and looking forward to a great experience. I can’t wait to represent 888poker at my best and help in any way possible.”
Tran is one of the game’s all-time greatest players. Over this lengthy career grinding live tournaments, he has racked up nearly $9 million in career scores (not including the 2013 main event). He has a chance at $8.3 million more in earnings.
Tran has been deep many times in poker’s most prestigious event, finishing 108th in 2009, 561st in 2012, 493rd in 2007 and 117th in 2004. The final table had always eluded him.
He has two WSOP bracelets at the moment.
888 is based out of Gibraltar and looks to be a player in both Nevada and New Jersey legal online poker markets thanks to a partnership with Caesars, which owns the WSOP.
