French online gambling firm PMU just released an advertisement that somehow tied in its betting business with a reenactment of the J.F.K assassination.

The short ad beings with one cop betting another that he could spin his gun “like a cowboy.” During this, the gun discharges and the bullet ricochets off some stuff before eventually — and this is implied — hitting and killing the president in his motorcade. The ad flashes to First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy scrambling to pick up the pieces of her husband’s head.

Some of the responses on YouTube were in anger, but one person responded, “I don’t think this is too soon.” Kennedy was killed November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas.

This isn’t the first time a gambling ad has created some minor controversy.

In the midst of the United States Presidential election last fall, Ireland-based Paddy Power ran a print ad with the language “Sorry Romney, you’re not black or cool. We’re paying out early on an Obama victory.” The company defended the gimmick.
