In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. NEVADA
- The 2013 Venetian Deepstack Extravaganza 3.5 (Sep 16, ‘13 – Oct 01, ’13) The Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV is now entering the later stages of it’s 37-event tournament series this week, with the centerpiece of the whole schedule being the five-day, $1,600 no-limit hold’em event which gets underway with the first of three starting days at noon on Sept. 27th.
INTERNATIONAL
- The 2013 Poker Montreal Festival (Sep 21, ‘13 – Oct 03, ’13) The Playground Poker Club just outside of Montreal, Canada is hosting a $1 million guaranteed no-limit hold’em main event as part of it’s Poker Montreal Festival. The $1,100 buy-in event sports a seven-day schedule, kicking off with the first of three starting days at noon on Sept. 27th.
MIDWEST
- The 2013 WSOP Circuit Ohio (Sep 19, ‘13 – Sep 30, ’13) The Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati moves into the second week of the first-ever World Series of Poker Circuit event in Ohio, which features a 12-event schedule of tournaments. The highlight is the $1,675 no-limit hold’em main event which kicks off with the first of two starting days at noon on Sept. 27th.
CALIFORNIA
- The 2013 Big Poker Oktober (Sep 22, ‘13 – Oct 15, ’13) The Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, CA kicked off it’s 32-event Big Poker Oktober series on Sunday. There are plenty of tournaments to choose from this week, but the highlight is a $235 buy-in no-limit hold’em deepstack tournament that gets underway at 1:00 PM on Sept. 29th and features a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool.
- The 2013 Heartland Poker Tour Thunder Valley (Sep 20, ‘13 – Sep 30, ’13) The Heartland Poker Tour continues with it’s nine-event tournament series at the Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, CA. The highlight this week is the $1,650 no-limit hold’em main event which kicks off with the first of three starting days on Sept. 26th at 5:00 PM. Day 1B will also begin at the same time in the evening, while day 1C gets underway at 1:00 PM on Sept. 28th.
- The 2013 $100K Guarantee Tournament (Sep 23, ‘13 – Sep 26, ’13) The Hawaiian Gardens Casino is hosting a $100,000 guaranteed, $115 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that features four starting flights: the first at 6:15 PM on Sept. 23rd. the second at 12:15 PM on Sept. 24th, the third on the same day at 6:15 and the final flight at 12:15 on Sept. 25th.
SOUTH
- The 2013 Choctaw Fall Poker Series (Sep 26, ‘13 – Oct 07, ’13) The Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, OK is set to run a 30-event series in the coming weeks, with the early highlight being a $100,000 guaranteed, $560 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that kicks off at 7:00 PM on Sept. 26th.
