In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. INTERNATIONAL
- The 2013 World Series of Poker Europe (Oct 11, ‘13 – Oct 25, ’13) The 2013 World Series of Poker Europe tournament series has moved to the Casino Barrière d’Enghien-les-Bains, in a suburb of Paris, France for the event’s seventh annual running. There will be eight gold WSOP bracelets on the line in the coming weeks, with the first bracelet event being the €1,100 buy-in ladies’ no-limit hold’em event that begins on Oct. 11th at 6:00 PM local time. The first open bracelet event will be a €1,100 no-limit hold’em re-entry event that will feature two starting days, both beginning at noon local time on the 12th and 13th.
- 2013 EPT/UKIPT – London (Oct 02, ‘13 – Oct 12, ’13) The second week of the massive 38-event EPT/UKIPT London poker festival is going down at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London, England . The £5,250 no-limit hold’em main event is ongoing, but even though registration is closed that event, there is still plenty of tournament action on offer. The highlight of the week is the £10,300 no-limit hold’em eight-max high roller event, which kicks off on Oct. 10th at noon local time.
- The 2013 Asian Poker Tour Manila (Oct 09, ‘13 – Oct 16, ’13)
The Resorts World Manila Casino in the Phillipine city of Manila is playing host to the Asian Poker Tour starting this week. The highlight of the series is the 46,000 + 4,000 Phillipine Pesos ($1,060 + $92 USD) no-limit hold’em main event, which begins on Oct. 12th with the first of two starting days beginning at 1:00 PM local time.
- The 2013 WPT National Barcelona (Oct 10, ‘13 – Oct 14, ’13) The Casino Barcelona is hosting the World Poker Tour National’s Spanish leg. with the highlight being the €1,500 + €150 ($1,984 + $198 USD) no-limit hold’em main event which kicks off on Oct. 10th with the first of two starting days, each of which begin at 2:00 PM local time.
- The 2013 Genting Poker Series Edinburgh (Oct 09, ‘13 – Oct 14, ’13) The Genting Poker Series makes it’s way to Edinburgh in Scotland for a four-event series this week, highlighted by the £400 + £40 ($598 + $60 USD) main event, kicking off with the first of two starting days on Oct. 10th at 1:00 PM local time.
NEVADA
- The 2013 Wynn Fall Classic (Oct 11, ‘13 – Oct 29, ’13) The Wynn Las Vegas gets underway with it’s 11-event Wynn Fall Classic this weekend with the early highlight being the $250,000 guaranteed $550 no-limit hold’em kickoff event, which begins with the first of three starting days at noon on Oct. 11th.
CALIFORNIA
- The 2013 Big Poker Oktober (Sep 22, ‘13 – Oct 15, ’13) The Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, CA is moving into the final stages of it’s 32-event Big Poker Oktober series, with this week’s highlight being the $200,000 guaranteed $550 main event, which will kick off with the first of four starting days on Oct. 11th at 4:00 PM. The survivors from the four starting days will return on Oct. 15th to play down to a champion.
FLORIDA
- The 2013 Isle Open (Oct 03, ‘13 – Oct 30, ’13) The Isle Casino in Pompano Beach, FL continues with it’s 22-event tournament series, with this week’s highlight being a $250,000 guaranteed, $540 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that gets underway on Oct. 11th with the first of four starting flights, with 11:00 Am and 7:00 PM start times on the 11th and 12th.
- The 2013 Heartland Poker Tour Florida (Oct 04, ’13 – Oct 14, ’13) The Daytona Beach Kennel Club & Poker Room is hosting the Heartland Poker Tour beginning this week, with the $1,670 main event kicking off with the first of three starting days starting on Oct. 11th at 11:00 AM.
MIDWEST
- The 2013 WSOP Circuit Southern Indiana (Oct 03, ‘13 – Oct 14, ’13) The Horseshoe Southern Indiana in Elizabeth, IN welcomed the WSOP Circuit last week. Like always with the WSOPC, the highlight of the series will be the $1,675 no-limit hold’em main event which begins with the first of two starting days on Oct. 11th at noon.
- The 2013 Fall Poker Classic (Oct 05, ‘13 – Oct 21, ’13) The Canterbury Park Racetrack & Card Club in Shakopee, MN moves into the second week of it’s 26-event poker tournament series, with the highlights of the coming days being a pair of $600 events, the first being a H.O.R.S.E. tournament that begins on Oct. 10th at noon and the second a no-limit hold’em tournament that begins on Oct. 12th, also at noon.
SOUTH
- The 2013 Heartland Poker Tour Oklahoma (Oct 10, ‘13 – Oct 21, ’13) The Heartland Poker Tour makes the trip to Wyandotte, OK and the Indigo Sky Casino, which will host the seven-event tournament series beginning this weekend. The early highlight is a $330 + $30 no-limit hold’em event that begins on Oct. 11th and features tow starting flights, one at noon and the second at 6:00 PM local time.
