For the first time in it’s seven-year history the World Series of Poker Europe featured a gold-bracelet awarding ladies’ no-limit hold’em tournament. A total of 65 players posted the €1,100 buy-in in the kickoff event of the 2013 WSOP-E, building a €62,400 prize pool. After two days of play at the Casino Barrière d’Enghien-les-Bains, the last player standing was Jackie Glazier. For the win the Australian earned €21,850.

Glazier has had prior success in WSOP events, but both her runner-up finish in a 2012 no-limit hold’em event and her last-woman-standing run to 31st place in this year’s WSOP main event were bittersweet: good for big paydays, but just short of the title and the glory. Despite these close calls, Glazier still felt confident that she could convert her chiplead heading into the final table into a win. So confident, in fact, that she bought a bottle of champagne before play resumed on the final day.

Glazier during the 2013 WSOP main event“I just had this feeling I was going to win it. I said to my husband, ‘It is wrong not to have a bottle of champagne in the fridge ready to go. I’m going to go buy a bottle and put it in the fridge so it is ready when I win this bracelet.’ He was like, ’That’s ridiculous. It’s poker. You can’t think like that, you don’t know what is going to happen.’ I said, ’I know what is going to happen. This is going to happen.”

And it did, and as a result Glazier will go down in history as the first player to win a WSOP ladies’ event bracelet outside of Las Vegas.

“It is definitely a dream come true. I’ve always aspired to win a World Series bracelet and to do it here in the first-ever Europe Ladies Event is a real honor,” Glazier said.

Seven players made the money, including 2012 WSOP main event 10th-place finisher Gaelle Baumann Five of the seven who cashed were from the host country of France.

Here is a look at the payouts and POY points awarded at this final table:
