In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. INTERNATIONAL
- The 2013 World Series of Poker Europe (Oct 11, ‘13 – Oct 25, ’13) The 2013 World Series of Poker Europe tournament series at the Casino Barrière d’Enghien-les-Bains outside of Paris, France moves into it’s final stages this week. The €10,000 no-limit hold’em main event is ongoing,with registration having closed on Sunday, but there are still numerous side events and one more bracelet to play for in the €25,000 no-limit hold’em high roller that begins on Oct. 22nd at 6:00 PM local time and continues until a winner is decided on Oct. 24th.
- The 2013 APPT ACOP Macau (Oct 18, ‘13 – Nov 03, ’13) The City of Dreams in Macau got underway with it’s 12-event Asia Championships of Poker tournament series last week. The highlight of the coming days is the $25,000 HKD ($3,223 USD) no-limit hold’em ACOP ‘warm up’ event, which features a $5 million HKD ($644,935 USD) guaranteed prize pool and gets underway with the first of two starting days on Oct. 23rd at 6:00 PM local time.
- The 2013 World Poker Tour Grand Prix de Paris (Oct 21, ‘13 – Nov 03, ’13) The Aviation Club de France, on the famous Champs-Élysées in Paris is hosting the 2013 World Poker Tour grand Prix de Paris this week, with the €7,500 no-limit hold’em WPT main event getting underway on Oct. 25th with the first of two starting days beginning at 2:30 local time.
CALIFORNIA
- The 2013 WSOP Circuit Lake Tahoe (Oct 24, ‘13 – Nov 04, ’13) The World Series of Poker Circuit continues it’s non-stop traversal of the country as it pulls into Harveys Resort & Casino in Lake Tahoe, Nevada this week, kicking off the series on Oct. 24th with a $365 no-limit hold’em event. The WSOP Circuit main event of this series will take place next week, beginning on Nov. 1st.
- The 2013 October $15K Guarantee Nooner (Oct 27, ‘13) The event’s name pretty much says it all: this week, Pala Casino Spa and Resort in Pala, California will be hosting a $15,000 guaranteed, $125 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament that gets underway at noon on Oct. 27th.
NEVADA
- The 2013 Wynn Fall Classic (Oct 11, ‘13 – Oct 29, ’13) The Wynn Las Vegas moves into the later stages of it’s 11-event Wynn Fall Classic this week, with the highlights of the coming days being the $250,000 guaranteed $550 no-limit hold’em event that features three starting flights on Oct. 22nd – 24th at noon and the $1,600 no-limit hold’em main event, with starting flights on OCt. 26th and 27th, also at noon.
- The 2013 7th Annual Caesars Palace Poker Classic (Oct 18, ‘13 – Nov 04, ’13) Caesars Palace Las Vegas continues with it’s 35-event tournament series, with this week’s highlight being a $350 no-limit hold’em seniors event that begins at 10:00 AM on Oct. 25th.
MIDWEST
- The 2013 WSOP Circuit Hammond (Oct 17, ‘13 – Oct 28, ’13) The World Series of Poker Circuit returned to one of it’s most popular stops last week, pulling into Hammond, Indiana’s Horseshoe Casino Hammond for a 12-event tournament series. The highlight of the coming week is of course the WSOP Circuit $1,675 no-limit hold’em main event, which features an incredible $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. The first of two starting days will get underway onOct. 25th at noon, and play will continue until a champion is decided on Oct. 29th.
- The 2013 Heartland Poker Tour Iowa (Oct 18, ‘13 – Oct 28, ’13) A 6-event series kicked off late last week at the Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Altoona, Iowa as part of the Heartland Poker Tour. The $1,650 no-limit hold’em main event will begin with three starting flights, the first on Oct. 25th at 6:00 PM, the second the following day at 9:00 AM and the third at 4:00 PM that same day.
- The 2013 Heartland Poker Tour Indiana (Oct 25, ‘13 – Nov 04, ’13) The Heartland Poker Tour marches into the Belterra Casino Resort in Florence, Indiana for it’s 10-event tournament series, beginning with a $360 buy-in event that starts on Oct. 25th and features four starting flights, getting underway at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM on both the 25th and the 26th.
NORTHEAST
- The 2013 World Poker Finals (Oct 20, ‘13 – Nov 04, ’13) The Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut kicked off it’s 21-event fall World Poker Finals tournament series over the weekend. This week’s highlight is the $150,000 guaranteed prize pool, $1,650 no-limit hold’em event that begins at noon on Oct. 26th.
- The 2013 Philly Poker Open (Oct 25, ‘13 – Nov 04, ’13) Harrah’s Philadelphia in Chester, Pennsylvania will get underway with it’s 18-event Philly Poker Open series this week, with the kick off event being a $100,000 guaranteed $300 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that features four starting flights, one at noon and another at 6:00 PM on both Oct. 25th and Oct. 26th.
FLORIDA
- The 2013 Isle Open (Oct 03, ‘13 – Oct 30, ’13) The Isle Casino in Pompano Beach, FL is nearing the end of it’s 22-event tournament series, with this week’s highlight being the $500,000 guaranteed $2,500 no-limit hold’em main event that gets underway with the first of three starting days at 11:00 AM local time on Oct. 24th.
