The Government Gives Pub Poker the Green Light!
The Government is looking at lifting restrictions on playing poker in pubs. The Culture department had the following to say on the issue:
"The government does not believe permitting people to play poker in pubs for very small stakes (a few pounds per head) puts at risk any of the three objectives of the Gambling Act: protecting the vulnerable, keeping out crime and keeping games fair."
U.K.'s Biggest Pub Poker League About to Go BOOM!!!
Due to this latest announcement, the U.K.'s largest pub poker league www.pokerinthepub.com is set to expand operations at an even greater pace. Their chairman Dave Brannan, an online gaming and poker expert was delighted by the announcement;
"A well-regulated poker in the pub league is good for players and landlords. We expected our league to hit 10,000 players, we are now expecting over 30,000 by the middle of next year. We will also be launching in Spain soon."
Poker in the Pub has grown to over 2,500 players in just four months and is the U.K.'s largest pub poker league. The league is completely free for their players and there are some fantastic prizes on offer.
