Some in Michigan undoubtedly consider Daniel Negreanu Santa Claus incarnate. Negreanu was asked if he could help a local charity poker tournament out by giving a few supplies. Next thing organizers knew, almost the entire endeavor was financed.

Adam Pulling Memorial Scholarship Fund

The charity tournament was meant to benefit is the Adam Pulling Memorial Scholarship Fund. Adam Pulling, once a 19-year-old college student at Western Michigan University, died two years ago of cancer. Pulling loved to play no-limit hold'em, according to his father, Mike, so a charity poker tournament was a no-brainer.

The scholarship fund has distributed more than $10,000 since Pulling's death.

Negreanu's Holiday Gifts

Negreanu caught wind of the tournament from one of the employees at his online poker site, FullContactPoker. The employee heard of the event through his father, who works with Mike Pulling, and decided to see if Negreanu would be interested in donating a few FullContactPoker chip sets for prizes.

Mike Pulling was surprised when he found that Negreanu had donated 20 new poker tables, 20,000 chips, and 40 decks of cards to the cause, basically giving them everything they needed to take their tournament to the next level and give it a more professional air.
