Colorado Could Ban Online Lotto SalesIs State Serious About Online Gaming? |
|
Is Colorado actually a possibility for online poker legalization?
Despite indication that the state would take up online gaming talks in 2014, the Associated Press reported that Colorado is making a push to ban online lottery sales.
One Republican lawmaker said that the proposal would help combat underage gambling — a topic that has come up again and again within any online poker legislative debates.
The measure is House Bill 1142.
There are nearly 40 casinos and parimutuel facilities in Colorado, which only allow a maximum bet of $100 on any given deal or roll of the dice. There are 12 card rooms in the state, with a combined total of around 100 poker tables.
In 2012, the casinos did work on crafting an online poker proposal.
Right now, only Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey have legal online poker.
California is considered to have the best chance of being the next state to legalize.
