Mike Leah achieved one of poker’s most rare feats on Friday, March 14th at the Bicycle Casino. In the span of one day he took down two live poker tournaments, winning his first World Series of Poker Circuit gold ring in a $580 no-limit hold’em event and then hopping into the $365 no-limit hold’em turbo later that afternoon, only to come out on top of that as well to earn his second ring in one day.

The two wins combined to give Leah a $32,385 payday. Leah has now won four tournaments just two and a half months into the year. Leah got 2014 off on the right foot when he came out on top in a $5,300 no-limit hold’em turbo side event at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure for $119,770. He then went on to take down a $1,100 CAD no-limit hold’em prelim at the WPT Fallsview Poker Classic for $118,982 CAD ($107,084 USD).

These four wins have given Leah 1,404 Card Player Player of the Year points, enough to move him into 15th place in the overall POY standings. Leah’s year-to-date earnings have grown to $243,799 as a result.
